When it comes together

I love it when a plan comes together, or however the bloke in A-Team used to say. I’ve added some new NPC’s and their AI is working perfectly as I intended. I’ve added a new merchant too; the town witch, functioning as Alchemist. She looks the part and sells and buys stuff too. I have guard patrols as well and the town is coming to life overall. I really hate the Stormcloak uniform I had to equip them with, but this town is situated in Eastmarch, so I saw no choice. I think the Legion armour is sexier, but this will do for this town. Here are some screens from my recent progress, depicting some of the town’s inhabitants.

Now if you’d excuse me for a while. I think Crusader Kings II opened tonight and I need to test play it, since I pre-ordered last week.

  1. Astounding to be honest, whenever I need inspiring to mod in Skyrim I always come to this blog, will the town be downloadable when it’s finished?

Anyway I hope more people will discover this mod, I might put a link to it in my Nexus Signiture if that’s ok? More people need to see this.

    Great first village AS! πŸ™‚

    • Thank you kindly. All the great comments make me continue blogging about my Skyrim adventure. The greatest days are yet to come, when I start creating all the great new landmasses. And yes, Primby Town will be on Skyrim Nexus, ModDB as well as on the Steam Workshop, just to try that one out. I might also do another town in Skyrim later on, since I’d really like to create an Imperial environment too. And you’re welcome to put it in your signature. That would be much appreciated πŸ™‚

  2. I was thinking today about the whole hoping for more dogs, cats and other things etc, which I think comes under modelling. Do you know anything about this? I would love to try and model some things, but I’ve never tried and tutorials/advice seem to be non-existent? They say if you want something done then do it yourself, which is what I’m aiming to do, but it’s hard when modelling advice seems to be so vague. :S

    • Oh yes. I haven’t gotten into modelling myself either, because I haven’t got the time and energy to learn Blender sufficiently. There are masses of modder’s resources on the websites, so I often use those, and for Primby, I don’t need any new models at all, since it’s all going to be vanilla. You should look up blender tutorials as well as information on how to get new models into Skyrim if you want to try your hand at it. Unfortunately, it’s not really my area, so I’m afraid I can’t really help you there.

  3. Sorry to ask another thing, but I tried adding some buildings into the game world today, with little luck, what I couldn’t figure out was how to find a specific location on the map to build on? I know there are coordinates, but there doesnt’ seem to be any way of finding them for the place you want to build, so how did you find the location for Primby in the CK is basically what I’m asking?

    • Yeah, it’s pretty hard to actually find the perfect location in the CK. I actually scouted my area in-game pretty thoroughly before choosing my location for Primby. I know exactly what landmarks, ruins, events and other things are in the vicinity of the village. I knew that my location was near the Dwemer Mzulft Ruins, so when I started modding, I looked up Mzulft in the CK and just moved the camera over to my chosen location. It didn’t take long for me to find it. I actually followed roads and landmarks in the CK that I had earlier scouted in-game. Then, when I found the location for my village, I quickly renamed that Wilderness Cell “PrimbyTown”. This, so I could easily find it every time I open the CK after that.
